Hi
ReplyDeleteWow never looked at this situation like this. I guess its one of those things that we force onto our sub conscious mind. This mess is worse for women. If you step out of these PJs, onto the roads, how many ‘public conveniences’ are there for women? And the ones that exist, no self respecting woman would ever use them! Its so sad that most of use work towards expanding the concrete jungle and forgot to answer the most frequently asked question – ‘ah! Where do I pee?’
Waiting for your next blog!

A must read commentary for all in the service sector, I too have across some "winners". Having lived in Beijing that city is comparatively poor as well. I recall going out as a group and rhyming off the best hotel loos in the city as everywhere else was near feudal.
ReplyDeleteGovernment at all levels must recognize this "when you have to go you have to go" phenomena and put into law (if not already written)strict guidelines to enforce proper facilities. Perhaps there should be a "name and shame" campaign run by the municipal health unit? In the west stringent laws are in place, regarding persons with disabilities and in cities in Canada "name and shame" are not only practiced because the kitchen is not up to scratch the toilet facilities as well. When a sign is posted on your restaurant saying the establishment did not pass the test you renovate or perish! A great blog point on a topic few of wish to speak about.
